Some properties of quantum graphs

Alexandre Tavares Baraviera (UFRGS)

Quantum mechanics is a probabilistic description of the microscopic world and a quantum graph can be seen as the model for one electron moving on a one dimensional circuit. This has been attracting a lot of attention during the last years, not only due to its technological importance (since the production of smaller circuits is necessary to keep our computers decreasing in size and increasing in performance) but also because it is a simple mathematical model where the relation between quantum and classical properties of a given system can be understood. In this talk we would like to state precisely the model and review some of its mathematical properties.
